# Use the Assistant

> Ask the workspace Assistant to read your data and draft actions.

The **Assistant** is a workspace-aware AI helper. You chat in plain language; it reads your data,
drafts actions, and — only after you confirm — performs writes on your behalf using the same
permissions and safeguards as the rest of the app.

## Open the Assistant

Choose **Ask AI** to open the Assistant. Type what you want, for example "summarize my recent
discovery jobs" or "draft an ICP for mid-market fintech."

## Read, draft, confirm

* **Read** requests (questions about your data) return answers inline.
* **Draft** requests propose content you can use.
* **Write** actions are never performed silently — the Assistant shows a confirmation card with
  exactly what it will do, and nothing is written until you approve it.

>
> Owners, admins and members can use the Assistant; viewers cannot. Writes always honor your
> workspace permissions. The Assistant needs an AI model for your workspace: if none is available,
> ask a workspace admin to connect a provider in **Settings → Providers**.

> **Beta limitations.** The Assistant is bounded during the private beta: a limited number of tool
> calls per message, and messages are metered. Confirmation is always required before any write.
